In a recent development concerning international travel policies, Taiwan has put a halt on processing visas for citizens of Morocco. This move comes after Morocco decided to stop accepting visa confirmation letter applications from Taiwanese travelers across the globe, adhering to the principle of reciprocity.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Taiwan revealed that Moroccan diplomatic posts have been directed to cease processing the essential confirmation letters that enable Taiwanese nationals to obtain visas upon arrival. However, Taiwanese travelers who already possess valid confirmation letters issued prior to the suspension are still permitted entry into Morocco as long as those documents remain valid.
This change in policy by Morocco has reportedly caused disruptions in travel and exchanges between the two regions, according to Taiwan. The Taiwanese government has called on Rabat to revert to normal visa processing to facilitate smoother interactions and travel between their citizens.
To address the situation, Taiwan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs has stated its commitment to closely monitoring Morocco’s visa policies and will adjust its own visa measures as needed in response to any further developments.
