China is set to launch its National Science Popularization Month, an initiative aimed at enhancing public comprehension of scientific innovation and boosting science literacy across the nation. The program, spanning a month, will operate under the theme “Science Transforms Lives, Innovation Secures the Future,” and will encompass a variety of exhibitions, lectures, science tours, and activities designed to engage the public.

In Beijing alone, over 100 exhibitions and events will be hosted at major venues, while national scientific societies will organize more than 150 activities throughout the country. The focus of these events is to make basic research and emerging scientific advancements more accessible and understandable to the general public.

As part of the initiative, visitors will have the opportunity to explore laboratories and research facilities, providing a closer look at cutting-edge scientific progress. This hands-on experience is intended to bridge the gap between complex scientific concepts and everyday understanding, fostering a culture of curiosity and learning.

A highlight of the month-long program will be the 2026 World Conference on Science Literacy, set to take place in mid-September in Beijing. This conference will gather representatives from various countries to deliberate on science literacy and explore avenues for international cooperation in advancing scientific education.
